The Alabama Community College System, in partnership with Alabama's Regional RC&D Councils, proudly introduces Building Futures — a one-time scholarship designed to open doors for Alabamians seeking high-demand careers.
While existing programs focus on Advanced Manufacturing and Healthcare, Building Futures fills a critical gap by targeting Aviation and Construction — two industries with immediate statewide workforce needs across all 24 ACCS colleges.

Scholarships apply to workforce-aligned programs in Aviation and Construction offered through Alabama's community colleges. Eligible expenses include tuition, fees, and books.

Scholarships may be applied to Fall 2026, Spring 2027, or Summer 2027. Funds cover tuition, fees, and books only.
To be considered for a Building Futures scholarship, applicants must meet all of the following requirements.

Must be a current resident of Alabama
A minimum 2.5 overall grade point average
Plans to pursue an Aviation or Construction career in Alabama
Declared major in an approved scholarship program
Full application packet submitted by the stated deadline
Agree to communicate employment outcomes with ACCS
This scholarship is designed for Alabamians ready to build a career in high-demand trade and technical fields.
Starting or restarting a skilled career
Transitioning military members and families
Not yet enrolled in post-secondary education
Seeking career transition and new opportunity
Submit a complete application packet by the deadline. All five items are required.
Fill out the official scholarship application form completely and accurately.
Include a current résumé. A résumé-building guide will be provided if needed.
One signed letter from a professional, academic, or community contact.
An unofficial high school or college transcript showing your academic record.
A professional headshot for recognition materials. Examples will be provided.
