Description:

The Single Audit Success Academy (SASA) is a comprehensive training program meticulously crafted to assist individuals in navigating the intricate process of preparing for single audits tied to federal grants. The program spans two half-day sessions, providing a total of six contact hours for participants to delve into various critical aspects such as federal award requirements, financial reporting, audit preparations, and industry best practices and receive feedback through instructor-led Q&A during the training.

This inclusive course is tailored to accommodate a broad spectrum of individuals, from beginners looking to establish a solid foundation to seasoned professionals seeking to enhance their existing knowledge. Participants are encouraged to take advantage of a wealth of resources, personalized mentorship opportunities, and a full year of e-mentoring support.

Course Objectives:

Upon course completion, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the essential components of federal grant management to ensure adherence to funding guidelines and maximize audit success.
  • Understand federal grant financial management principles, regulations, and legal requirements.
  • Effectively manage financial reporting, monitoring, and risk management practices essential for successful grant management.
  • Understand procurement standards aligned with 2 CFR Part 200, covering various procurement methods, conflict of interest management, and competition requirements.
  • Implement best practices in procurement procedures to ensure compliance, mitigate risks, and facilitate smooth single audit preparation processes.
  • Develop robust strategies for financial monitoring, internal controls, and audit preparation.
  • Implement effective internal control activities, audit preparation techniques, and cost allocation strategies to enhance financial practices and audit readiness.
  • Manage closeout processes and understand allowable costs, property standards, and record retention guidelines.
  • Understand the critical phases of grant closure and ensure compliance with federal regulations for successful closeout and record retention practices.
