Crime Scene Processing & Evidence Collection
Course Goal:
The Purpose Of This Course Is To Provide The Participant With The Ability To Identify And Collect A Variety Of Physical Evidence At Crime Scenes.
Course Objective
Upon Completion Of The Course, The Participant Will Be Able To:
- Collect and Package Shoe & Tire Impressions
- Collect and Package Tool Mark Impressions
- Collect and Package Paint Evidence
- Collect and Package Glass Evidence
- Collect and Package DNA Evidence
- Collect and Package Firearm Evidence
*PARTICIPANTS MUST BE EMPLOYED BY A LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY TO ATTEND THIS COURSE*
APOSTC Continuing Education Credit:
- This Training Provides Eighteen (18) Hours of APOST CEU Credits
- This Training Provides Eighteen (18) Hours of POST CEU Credits for Outside States (If Approved By Your State)
Important Notes and Required Equipment:
- Participants must attend all three (3) days of training to receive full CEU credits for the class. Participants will be responsible for providing the following:
- Black Magnetic Powder & Wand
- Two (2) 2 lb. Packages of Plaster
- Hair Spray (Pump Bottle-Type)
- Ruler
- WD-40 (Spray Can)
- Copy Paper
- Scissors
- Evidence Package
- Tape
- Paper Bags
- Envelopes
- SLR Digital Camera
