Welcome to the Alabama Community College System! Our 24 colleges are deep-seated within every region of the state and each of our institutions is laser-focused on creating a student experience which nurtures learning and builds solid futures for successful careers and families. We believe strongly that every Alabamian is a prospective student, and we are glad you have considered us for a strong foundation for your future.
At ACCS, we are committed to providing access to an affordable education that is high-quality and attainable. We offer life-long learning opportunities through academic transfer programs, adult education and workforce development that help students achieve their greatest goals. Academic and career technical dual enrollment classes allow high school students to earn college credit that saves money and time. Our non-credit programs are here for adult learners who want to work toward their GEDs as well as employees who want to train for high-skill, high-demand, high-wage careers.
Marion Military Institute, the oldest military junior college in the nation, provides opportunities for entry into the service academies of all branches of the armed forces. Students who attend have one of the few opportunities in the nation to achieve a second lieutenant’s commission after earning an associate degree.
ACCS collaborates closely with Alabama’s top employers and workforce partners to develop programs that exceed the standards for Alabama’s most necessary professions. As national and international businesses continue to look to our state for growth opportunities, we want to be able to continue to deliver training to students who become some of the strongest workers in their fields of study.
Small businesses, the lifeblood of our state’s economy, also count on us to provide skilled workers equipped with new and enhanced skill sets to meet businesses’ changing needs. Our workforce assessment and training initiatives through the Alabama Technology Network (ATN) provide valuable growth opportunities for both employees and employers.
Alabama’s community colleges are here to help you achieve your goals – whatever they may be. Start your journey with us and finish with your first degree, or train in one of our weeks long fast-track programs to gain a new skill and move your career forward. Or, simply enroll in one of our elective courses to enjoy a new hobby.
Success has many faces, and it is yours to pursue. I invite you to visit any of our college campuses to learn more on how we can partner with you on your journey. Our doors are open.
