For more than 50 years, our colleges have maintained a solid reputation for promoting academic success in a way that lets you learn, live and work in the communities that you love. More than 168,000 residents – 95% of which are Alabamians – choose us as their next best step in life in order to obtain an associate degree, gain technical skills, or to transfer to a four-year university. Our instructors have the same core credentials as instructors at four-year universities but smaller class sizes give you more personalized attention. You get the same quality at a smaller price tag. We’re the smart start to Real Life Achievement.
ACCS’ colleges are accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate degrees and certificates.
Our colleges have agreements with public and private colleges in Alabama to ensure that the core classes you take at your community college will transfer. Academic advisors and Student Services staff work with you to get the most out of your community college experience, which may mean that you can take more than just your basic courses and have some of those classes transfer, too!
Enrolling in college courses while still in high school saves you time and money. It also gets you ahead: you can go straight into the workforce or transfer to a four-year university right out of high school. You can even graduate college before high school!
