Law Enforcement Training

Alabama’s residents are the lifeline of every community. The core training they receive to make a difference in many of Alabama’s most critical and in-demand jobs begins at their local community or technical college.

The Alabama Community College System offers 1,728 unique training opportunities to Alabama citizens and businesses through Adult Education, the Innovation Center, The Alabama Technology Network (ATN), and the Law Enforcement Training Unit that are integral to the state.

More than 5,300 businesses depend on the workers across the state’s most in-demand jobs and most necessary career clusters.

Alabama’s record high exports in vehicles, aerospace parts, minerals and metals are influenced by 862 training programs the Alabama Community College System (ACCS) offers in Transportation, Distribution, Logistics and in Manufacturing. Industry giants such as Airbus, Austal, B. F. Goodrich, and Hyundai heavily rely on the ACCS to train their workers.

The healthcare needs of every region are fueled by community college students and alumni training in one of 80 programs or courses offered in the Health Sciences career cluster. Nursing and Allied Healthcare professionals are trained to provide mental health services in schools, to become Certified Nursing Assistants, to become pharmacy technicians, and to help save lives by becoming trained paramedics or EMTs. These programs also serve as a launching pad for several more careers that require training beyond community college.

Thanks to Alabama’s legislators, nearly $700 million in construction projects are underway to support new and expanding training programs within Alabama’s 16 career clusters.

Our state’s streets are safer with trained officers, houses are powered with experienced installers, grocery stores are filled with the proper cuts of meat, and houses can connect to broadband when residents are able to train for credentials at their local community college.

That’s why the system was created 61 years ago, and that’s why the system will continue leading workforce efforts that make a difference in the lives of Alabamians for generations to come.
