The Annual Martin & Coretta King Unity Breakfast is held every first Sunday in March, in conjunction with annual Selma Bridge Crossing Jubilee events, to commemorate Bloody Sunday, the Selma to Montgomery March, and the Voting Rights Act of 1965. This event is a celebration of the cultural and spiritual diversity of the Voting Rights Movement and a call for people of all faiths to work together. It promotes unity, locally and nationally, and has tackled social issues that affect minorities, such as: discrimination, labor disparities, and voting rights.
