On April 8, 2021 the Alabama State Board of Education approved a resolution to amend the Alabama Administrative Code requiring every graduating senior to complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA.)

  • Alabama’s high school graduates left approximately $60 million in grants on the table because they did not complete the FAFSA.
  • 92% of students who complete the FAFSA enroll in postsecondary education the following fall.
  • Most of Alabama high school seniors qualify for Pell Grants of up to $6,495 per year. (Which covers the cost of full-time tuition and fees at Alabama’s community colleges.)

Alabama’s community colleges have been in the FAFSA game for a long time and are here to help you and your students navigate the financial aid journey.
