The Alabama Community College System (ACCS) Division of Information Technology works to deliver and support the technology infrastructure across the state’s 24 community and technical colleges and System Office. The division manages many projects that help the ACCS achieve its goal of one, unified system of colleges, which improves processes, student learning outcomes, and teaching environments.

CURRENT INITIATIVES

Canvas: Learning Management System Implementation Project

Instructure’s Canvas has been selected as the vendor for the ACCS’ learning management system (LMS) following a comprehensive evaluation process to ensure students have the same quality level of technology access, no matter their college location. A full transition is expected by the Fall of 2024.

Ellucian Experience

Ellucian Experience upgrades colleges’ existing Banner dashboard to the latest technology available for synchronized support.

Honor Lock

Honorlock implements remote proctoring to allow students to take exams on or off-campus, offering flexibility and greater accessibility while maintaining the integrity of the exams, instructors and college reputation.
